I recently purchased a Jaguar XK8 and she needed some TLC, after speaking to a fellow member of the XKEC he recommended getting her detailed. He gave me Gary’s contact details and an appointment was made. I never expected such a transformation and now she looks better than when she came off the production line. The care and attention to detail were first class and the pictures have to be seen to be believed.

Having read on various internet forums about car detailing I finally took the decision to have my car professionally detailed. I contacted Gary to arrange a full exterior detail with a view to removing various swirl marks.

Having spent the entire day relentlessly working on the car I was impressed by how he retained his genuine interest in the quality of workmanship through the various stages of the process. Gary was more than happy to discuss the various techniques and products used as well as imparting some invaluable advice on maintaining the condition of the car.

The finished product was nothing short of amazing. I thought the car was clean but the clarity of the lacquer increased the intensity of the metallic paintwork. The application of Best of Show wax not only set off the mirror finish it gave a new depth to the Blue colour. For those of you considering having your car professionally detailed I can't recommend Gary highly enough and if you care about the condition of your car it’s definitely worth the investment.

I would like to thank Gary for a truly outstanding effort on restoring my car to such a pristine condition.

"While the weather threatened a wash out, Gary's work ethic and results were anything but. His professionalism showed through right from booking to arrival, with several calls before hand to confirm the appointment was still ok. He spent nearly 8 hours working on my car and when he was finished I was really impressed with the finish inside and out. The paintwork had acquired a bewitching sense of depth and a beautiful, slippery smooth finish which really brought out the Smokey dark grey colour. I didn't have a full machine detail finish, but even so the cleansing process significantly reduced the size and appearance of some the car's scars. It made it really hard to get behind the wheel and drive again, knowing that kamikaze bugs would be queuing up to smear themselves all over the front of the car. Now a week later, the longer term benefits are becoming more and more apparent, particularly in the recent rain which just seems to slide off without even needing wipers!"

I recently purchased a used car which, while in good general condition, suffered the swirls and light scratches so often seen, and given the dark colour paint this was spoiling the finish. I wanted to get it looking like new again and after reading about detailing on internet forums, I decided to arrange for Gary to carry out a full exterior detail complete with defect removal. Having never had this done before I was a bit apprehensive over the cost and the results that could be achieved.

A few days later, Gary made the 3 hour trip and spent the entire day working on the car. I was blown away by his professionalism and attention to detail and given the effort he put in, it started to seem like a bargain! He went to great lengths to explain the products and techniques being used and the final finish was nothing short of outstanding. I wanted it to look like new but actually, the end result was far beyond that with a mirror like finish that looked exceptional. In addition to this, Gary offered me a great deal of advice regarding ongoing care in order to keep it looking it's best.

I can't recommend Gary highly enough and if you're considering having your car detailed, my advice is go for it and you won't be disappointed !

Having got to know Gary's opinions and practices through his contributions to the Detailing World forums, I fully expected a totally professional service that would treat my car as carefully - even reverentially - as I would like. What I was not prepared for was the sheer class of craftsmanship that Gary puts into his work, his utter commitment and dedication to perfection, and the fabulous finish he achieves. To say that I'm entranced and delighted with the result is a considerable understatement.

Hello all. I'm posting here because although I've been around for some months I'm still a newbie in post terms. Some of you may remember that I first posted shortly after I'd had my Jaguar XKR coupe detailed by Paul Dalton of Miracle Detail. Since then I've moved to Norwich and yesterday Gary Funnell of Refined Reflections came to do the car.

I approached Gary because I liked the tone of his posts and suspected (and hoped) that he was every bit as fastidious as Paul. I was not disappointed. Gary arrived just before 8 am and left around 5.30 after having done an absolutely superlative job. The car looks amazing - I think he's already posted some photos on his web site but, really, even fine photography can't do it justice.

I thought you might be interested in my impressions of the different finishes achieved by Gary and Paul, as of course their favoured products are Swissol and Zymol respectively. Unfortunately it can't be a direct comparison since Gary used Divine and Paul didn't use Royale (I can't remember exactly which one it was, but it was pretty close to Royale).

To my eyes the difference is quite clear. Zymol leaves a very wet-looking, glossy effect. Divine is just as deep but is more of an even, mirror-like finish. I much prefer the Divine, as I think it's more elegantly understated, but I'm aware a lot of you on here like the "wet look."

I know Gary travels around the country and even abroad and I can't recommend him highly enough. He takes the ultimate pride in his craftsmanship and it's a wonderful experience to see him at work. Thank you Gary for your care in achieving a truly superb result!

I’m delighted with the job Gary did on both our cars, they both looked amazing! Until I met Gary I didn’t think it was possible to spend 7 hours cleaning a car but Gary has turned it into an art form! The best thing is that they are now both much easier to keep clean which is saving me a lot of time – I don’t have 14 hours spare every week to clean 2 cars! Will definitely be having Gary back every 6 months to work his magic!

I must say that my car has been transformed and I don't think it looked as good when it was new as it does now. The depth of shine is astounding and appears like a mirror in certain lights. The best bit for me though was the removal of the bird poo mark that was right on the power hump on the bonnet and stuck out like a sore thumb every time I washed it and now has completely 100% disappeared.

I would highly recommend Gary as he is a great guy who really cares about detailing and treated my car as his own.

The reason i hadthe car done was it had a few light scratches and somemicro marring which stopped the full shinefromcoming out of the body work when waxed...But not any more. Gary's work is fantastic, I have no real idea how he does it ,its a mystery to me, but simply ''magic'' is all i can see. After 6 to 8 weeks of having my car detailed, and driving 2000 miles in winter conditions, its still fantastic. After a quick clean it looks like new, or even better, it looks again like it did once Gary had cast his spell. I am so so pleased my car's finish.

Had Gary give my car the full treatment recently, I like to think I know how to keep my car clean and pride myself on the finish, many people comment on how well I look after it, so to put it simply I was stunned by how clean Gary has made it, the paint is now like glass, no swirls or annoying marks. Gary has managed to beat those trouble area's that I just could not shift. The trim is now like new, the paint is smooth and mark free.

I would recommend Refined Reflections without a second thought, Gary is a perfectionist and master of his trade. I have already booked my other car in for the same treatment as I know once it's been treated to a Refined Reflections session it would look stunning.
